On the field, Peterson relished the opportunities that came his way in coverage.

According to Pro Football Focus in 2016, Peterson not only led the NFL in coverage snaps against No. 1 receivers, he averaged the most coverage snaps per target at 8.5, meaning that the receiver he is covering was only targeted in one out of every 8.5 passing attempts by an opponent.

It’s a conversation that’s starting to become routine for . Josh Norman’s beef with Cardinals corner began in the summer on social media. On Sunday, their teams will meet on the field when the Redskins play at Arizona. Once Palmer said he feels Peterson is having the best training camp he has seen from the six-time Pro Bowl cornerback, anyone asked about it fell in line with the same belief.

Peterson has stood out to the coaching staff off the field as well, with his leadership in the locker room. Defensive coordinator James Bettcher said Peterson leads with his energy and effort on the field and has been vocal in the locker room and meeting room. While he has caught the attention of his teammates, the 27-year-old Peterson said he doesn’t think this camp is any different than his others.

On the field, Peterson relished the opportunities that came his way in coverage. Unlike the regular season, when quarterbacks stay away from throwing toward Peterson, the Cardinals’ quarterbacks threw at him, challenging him to defend his man and try to get an interception all at once.

Patrick Peterson wanted to golf. Kreiter woke up one morning last spring to find a text from Peterson, the ’ All-Pro cornerback, asking if he wanted to play 18 holes. It was perfect timing. Kreiter had the day off from his job at Superstition Mountain Golf Club, where Peterson was a member, authentic nfl jerseys cheap and Kreiter rarely, if ever, turned down an opportunity to play with a member. He estimated he’s played at least 100 of the more than 400 current members.

Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson wasn’t going to hide the pain he was in after Sunday’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

His motivation for continuing to work hard on his craft is simple, and a bid audacious. He wants to be the best of all time. “First of all, that’s why I play the game,” Peterson said. “I play the game to not only be remembered but to be the best to play at my position. Obviously I know the NFL has a long history of great players, great defensive backs. One of them actually is my idol, Deion Sanders, Rod Woodson, the list goes on. That’s why I play the game, chasing those guys.”

The Cardinals just picked up the option on Peterson, and he’s not sure any deal will get done before the coming season. He knows the Cardinals are eager to keep him, though. Arizona Cardinals Pro Bowl cornerback Patrick Peterson discussed the effect a diabetes diagnosis had on him last season in an extensive interview with The Arizona Republic on Monday, saying “no question it made a big difference” but that he now had the condition under control.

Bobby Wagner has been consistently solid and a true leader for the Seahawks. Ndamukong Suh hasn’t garnered a ton of recognition in Miami, but taking up two blockers has allowed everyone else on his line to eat. David Johnson is a phenomenal talent and the second-most versatile running back in the NFL (behind Le’Veon Bell). He gets better and better every time he touches the football. Johnson’s former teammate, Calais Campbell, deserves every bit of his top-25 ranking. There’s this saying in New Orleans that goes, “Mama, there go that man.” It means, Watch out when he comes around the corner, and we all know opponents never take their eyes off Campbell.

The Cardinals traded for Cooper in September, and eventually handed him the starting job, which he embraced and flourished in with a team-high four interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown. While he fits the mold of a traditional corner at 6-foot-2, there’s a good chance the Cardinals won’t be able to afford keeping him.

Saying he wants to “do my talking between the white lines,” Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson shrugged off the idea that some of his peers might get more attention and indicated that he feels he brings more value to his team.

What won’t change? The best players in the league, which is why I’m putting together a preseason 2017 All-Pro team. These are the true foundation pieces, the players who exude dominance on every play. Not some of the time or most of the time. The best of the very best.

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said he won’t have a chance to appreciate and enjoy what’s unfolding between Peterson and Jones while it’s happening in front of him live. He’ll reflect on it in February when he reviews the season.
